    It’s no secret that I love mesh heads and skins. If you look at my blogging history, you’ll see that I’m always eager to try on a new face, and I get really excited with each advance in mesh head technology and features. Skin Fair 2024 just opened, and although I’ve said it in jest that it’s like Christmas for me, this is overwhelmingly true. Everything is brand new. I can’t wait to try it all!

    Back in 2013, everyone fell in love with the Snow Rabbit (S@R) Nea mesh head. I remember being thrilled by the facial animations, particularly the incredibly realistic crying and animated tears.

    Now, more than a decade later, Snow Rabbit continues to release adorable mesh heads, and their latest, the W01X, truly caught my eye. It’s available at Skin Fair for 30% off – and it’s compatible with LeLutka’s EvoX skins. The compatibility with EvoX piqued my interest, as I have a collection of EvoX skins and makeups that I’m eager to use.

    Every time I acquire a new mesh head, I evaluate it on how easily I can shape the head to look attractive. Do all the sliders work as expected? How smooth are the animations? Does the HUD offer robust customization options? The Snow Rabbit W01X mesh head meets all these criteria for me and delivers a solid option that I believe many will adore.

    Do you like fun animations? The new animations add-on for LeLutka mesh heads are amazing! I’m a huge fan of cute things, and chewing gum just seems adorable, even more so virtually. LeLutka released Gum Gum Boom and Delights Cream. These animations are for gum chewing and eating ice cream, but I suppose they can be used for some adult things too… use your imagination. Watch the official video, it’s definitely sexy.

    I am dressed head to toe in donuts! I love sweet prints, and it doesn’t get any sweeter than the donuts print on my shoes and top.

    Juicy - Sara // LeLutka May Bento Shape

    It has been too long since I last made a shape! I made this shape for the LeLutka May Bento Mesh Head. I have made a handful of shapes for Simone, Chloe, and Spencer mesh heads from LeLutka – so I will probably not make any more shapes for those faces. I will try to make shapes for the ones I have not, such as May, Greer, Cate, and Bianca. I wear Chloe a lot, but they’re really all gorgeous when paired with the right skin.

    Laq - Lulu

    Meet Lulu, the newest mesh head from LAQ. On my last review of Gaia, the first bento mesh head from LAQ, I did not mention my thoughts on the shape tweaking process for the head cos it was still in the beta stage. The sliders are on Lulu are improved, so editing it is a breeze compared to Gaia. Some people said that the eyes looked sad on my shape, but I have yet to figure out how to fix that. I don’t even mind the sad eyes, it gives Lulu a sweet appearance. If you’re a fan of cute youthful faces, check out Lulu!

    I am wearing the default skin included with the HUD, and the Fresh Lip Tint gloss from Pink Fuel.

    Unexpected updates are the best! LeLutka will release 4 new bento mesh heads on August 8th, and updating all current bento mesh heads to version 3.0. What’s in v3 you ask? The HUD is slightly different, and now there is a Moods tab that includes 12 default moods with the option to turn the head bone movement on/off.

    I’m wearing Chloe in this post, cos I haven’t quite narrowed down which head I will wear next. Bento mesh heads have been out for a while, so I feel that there’s enough variety in heads/skins to make us unique looking. Do you still think that “everyone looks the same” in mesh heads or can we be unique now?

    Just when I think Second Life content can’t possibly get any better, it does get better, and that is the most exciting thing about being a consumer. This is the first time that I’ve seen bento animated hair, and I’m already craving more! I’ve seen animated hair from other brands, but I don’t know if they were bento or some other scripted method. Exile just released a few bento hairstyles, add them to your must have list! Watch the videos (Palace & Over the Edge) to see the animations! The hairstyles are even more stunning in-world cos the animations are so smooth.

    Maitreya - Lara Mesh Body v4.0 (Bento Hands Update)

    Just last month, I blogged about the SLink Dynamic Hands, and today I bring you the Maitreya Bento Hands! Now that I’ve worn both pairs of hands, my observation is that they’re both quite similar products with each having a dozen or so poses included, along with more options such as the ability to change nail shapes, and control the hand poses independently. Both are also free updates if you already own the hands (for SLink) or the body (Maitreya).

    Which hands should you wear? The obvious reason is to pick a pair of hands that you like best overall. I the SLink hands shape, but I love the almond nail shape on Maitreya. Both of these hands include casual hand shapes, in addition to some unique ones so it’ll be fun to swap them out for different photos.

    How do you get the free update if you already own the Lara Mesh Body from Maitreya? Just wear your body, you should receive a package automatically.

    SLink Dynamic Hands

    SLink Dynamic Hands have arrived! If you love bento mesh heads, you’ll love these dynamic (aka bento) hands. I haven’t tried the other bento hands on the grid, cos I was waiting for a release for a body that I do own, like SLink or Maitreya. The bento update is free, if you already own SLink avatar enhancement hands; go to the SLink store to get a re-delivery.

    At the moment, the only poses available are the standard ones from SLink hands, but more poses are coming soon. I love that switching hand poses is now done through a HUD – so no more switching hands for different poses, there’s only one pair to wear. The movements are super smooth, and the ‘relaxed’ hands even have subtle finger movements to add more realism.
