Pepe Skins – Mocha

Left: Pepe Skins – Mocha skin | Right: with tattoo layers

Whenever I see a Second Life skin advertisement, I always think, “But does it really look like that?” I stumbled upon Pepe Skins recently and after trying on a dozen or so faces, I selected one that I thought looked very sweet and definitely something I could wear.

I’m wearing the Mocha skin from Pepe Skins here, along with the body skin. The skin is created for LeLutka EvoX, and includes Brows or No brows available in just one color. This skin brand doesn’t offer much with the skin, unlike other brands where you can get at least a few brow colors and some makeup. I found the neck shading too heavy/reddish tone and overall the body skin is just grainy but I chose to wear it here cos I couldn’t make it work with my usual body skin and neck fade layers. But overall, the faces on Pepe Skins are all very pretty. They also participate in weekend sales so you can get a cheap skin to try out!

Glam Affair Skin

Left: Glam Affair Skin – Feoui | Right: with BoM tattoos added

The new Feoui skin from Glam Affair Skin is one of the cleanest skin I’ve ever seen from the brand, it comes without heavy shading on the face (especially Glam’s signature one side of the nose is more shaded than the other side). I’m not a fan of that, but I get why some skin designers are doing it to give the face more depth or simulate shadows, but it’s so awkward in normal lighting. When I tried on this Feoui skin, I was pleasantly surprised it’s so clean! I still ended up adding a bunch of BoM layers to the face to remove blush, change eyelids, and and few touches to make it more Gogo.

Voguel Skin

Sweet

Are you into hyper-realistic skins in Second Life? I normally wear smooth skins without imperfections, but then I visited Voguel and found a new skin that’s just adorable, even with pores and freckles! The imperfections really adds character, and it’s not too much, it’s still very soft and pretty. I’m wearing the Voguel Mia skin in Chantilly 2 skin tone. This tone matches well with a Pink Fuel body skin, or you can wear Velour (but I have not found a Velour skin tone that I like yet).

Linden WelcomeHub

WelcomeHub
The WelcomeHub

Hello from the new Linden WelcomeHub! It’s opening day, so there are lots of residents here checking it out, including mentors on hand to greet and help new residents. My friend, who was volunteering as a mentor, reported that she had already helped plenty of people. The futuristic and bright atmosphere reflects the SL20B slogan — “Our Fantastic Future”.

The WelcomeHub regions also includes Linden Homes demo, Motown, Helios Casino, a Sandbox, and a few other things to showcase things you can do in Second Life.

WelcomeHub
Motown in Second Life

If you’re new to Second Life, welcome! Don’t feel pressured to go shopping, buy a mesh body, look good, own land, etc. Just focus on making friends, learning how to walk, opening packages, explore public spaces, and it’s okay to wear the free Library avatars. A lot of people swarm new residents with places to shop and help them look good, but they still leave Second Life cos they don’t have any friends or any reason to stay.

Ahh….To Be an SL Noob Again

Ice-Cream-Shop

Hello Second Life! Elle Couerblanc here, renoobed and restyled. It’s been about 5 years maybe (??) since I did any sort of Second Life blogging, photos and well anything besides decorating whatever house I am living in at the moment. Overall, I have been really gone, except for log in spurts here and there, for about four years. But something about SL has intrigued me this time around.
