It’s madness how much I spent to win every piece of the Long Vacation gacha set. I’ve been shifting from retro-style to 80s-style in SL. I don’t remember when I started wearing Amitomo or buying cute little builds from Haikei, but I’m so glad these two brands exist in SL. I desperately needed new brands in my SLife, so I’m glad to have found a handful of cute stores with consistent releases to inspire me.
Have you seen the delicious new animation add-on from LeLutka? Lol Bee Bop and Wooly Mammoth are two more food-centric animations to keep you satisfied. I’m thinking maybe LeLutka should release a teeth brushing animation next, that would be so cute!
Are there animations that you want for mesh heads? Let me know in the comments!
Hello from Cape Florida Lighthouse and Park! This sim is inspired by a real place in Florida, USA. I love beaches, islands, lush vegetation, and this sim has it all! My outfit today is a mix of two items from Teefy – the Marissa Top (@Collabor88 June) and Mika Skirt (@Uber May).
I’m wearing the new Drive Fast hairstyle from Exile. Exile just introduced Style HUDs to the newer hairstyles, and I couldn’t be happier! I’m so glad that this is a thing now with hair designers. With mesh clothing, I have found it necessary to be able to flip my hair so it doesn’t intersect with clothing.
What I’m Wearing:
Teefy – Marissa Top (Dusk), Mika Skirt (White)
Exile – Drive Fast
Ingenue – Gilda Heels
I’m diving into 2018 with a new skin! My last favorite skin was from six months ago, so I’m due for a much-needed skin update. It is definitely a new year’s miracle that I liked not one but two new skins from Glam Affair, both released within the past two weeks.
Glam Affair – Michelle
The new Michelle skin from Glam Affair (@Collabor88) will be my new skin! I still look similar than what I’m used to, cos I am sticking with the same skin brand. One of the nice things about staying with a skin brand, is that most of the makeups are interchangeable between the different faces. This is why I find it incredibly hard to change skin brands and/or skin tones!
Glam Affair – Michelle with Denise lipsticks
Before I tried on Michelle, I definitely chose the Denise skin from Glam Affair (@Uber) as my new skin. I love the lipsticks! After I tried on Michelle, I decided to wear it as my new skin instead, so now I will just wear the Denise lipsticks over the Michelle skin. I’m complicated.
How old is the skin that you’re wearing now? Let me know in the comments!
Did you read the latest blog post about new improvements and fees? I’m super excited about Animesh! I can’t wait to have clothing and curtains that sways gently. As usual, there is some uproar about the fee for processing credit increasing from 1.5% to 2.5%, but that’s just the cost of doing business. Linden Lab could easily charge for a “business license” of $1,000USD a year and people would pay it, as long as they’re able to profit from their SL businesses.
In the decade that I’ve been in SL, I have not seen a single brand quit over ‘fees’ – but some do make a bunch of noise, and quit when they stop making a profit. My favorite brands aren’t going anywhere, as long as we keep supporting them with our lindens!
Speaking of favorite brands, What Next is easily one of my favorite home decor brands at the moment. The Colonna Hot Chocolate Station from What Next is giving my home such cozy autumn feels. I’m looking for a new bedroom set, if you guys have any suggestions, let me know in the comments!
Hair Fair is open! From July 1st-16th, a percentage of every hair that you buy at the event will benefit the Wigs for Kids organization. I look forward to Hair Fair annually, cos I have so many fond memories of shopping here through the years.
Check out the official Hair Fair blog for a preview of all the hairstyles and direct SLurls. When I went to the preview last night, this post was not up yet, which is actually a good thing cos I got to see all the booths and discover some new-to-me brands. I recommend going to the sims and buying the demos that you want to try directly, instead of relying on the Hair Fair Demo group cos that can get overwhelming.
I’m so impressed that hair designers got together and brought their best efforts to this event. In addition to bento hair, I’ve discovered that a handful of brands are now offering Style options, often built into the texture HUD or as a separate HUD.
Here are 5 hairstyles I love from Hair Fair:
RunAway Hair – Cherry Hair | include Style options
Just when I think Second Life content can’t possibly get any better, it does get better, and that is the most exciting thing about being a consumer. This is the first time that I’ve seen bento animated hair, and I’m already craving more! I’ve seen animated hair from other brands, but I don’t know if they were bento or some other scripted method. Exile just released a few bento hairstyles, add them to your must have list! Watch the videos (Palace & Over the Edge) to see the animations! The hairstyles are even more stunning in-world cos the animations are so smooth.
How darling is this Vintage Blouse from ANE? I love the front of this blouse, it’s pleated and very pretty. Then I turned around, and I love the back even more! Vintage with a twist!
What I’m Wearing:
Exile – Palace (Bento)
ANE – Vintage Blouse @ The Vintage Fair
The Secret Store – Yulia Flare Skirt (Navy)
Ingenue – Lisbet Heels (Navy) @ Collabor88
I don’t often wear short hair, so when I find one that I love, you know it’s amazing. This short wispy layered hairstyle from Exile initially reminded me a lot of Taylor Swift’s hair; but when I tried on the pastel colors, I decided that it’s just amazing futuristic/anime hair.
