Hello from SL17B Enchant! You can preview the next Linden Home theme here – it’s Stilt Homes! Sand, sand everywhere! I’m a fan of beach homes, so you know I’ll definitely add a stilt home or two to my collection. I’m so glad these homes have single-story cottage-style options and open floor plans!
Hello from my Linden home! My friend Sparkle really helped me spruce up the landscaping, and now it’s the cutest house on the block. Decorating with just 351 land impact and trying to make the exterior lush with landscaping, while leaving enough for interior decor is challenging but very doable! So far, I have only semi-finished decorating 1 out of too many homes. The Traditional is my favorite Bellisseria home theme, what’s yours?
Almost a year ago, I moved into my very first Linden Home. At the time, I calculated the cost, and it was around $6USD/yr with the stipend plus bonus (for being a first-time premium member). Now that the price of a Premium membership has increased to $99USD/yr and the Lindex exchange rate is slightly worse, let’s find out how much it costs to own a Linden home!
The 5th Linden Home theme is Log Homes! I’m kind of surprised since it’s pretty much more of the same. I am a huge beach home fan in SL, but I really want a snow chalet too, for some magical Winter wonderland photos. Go check out the Log Homes in-world before the launch.

Hello from Bellisseria South, the long-awaited Victorians have now been claimed by thousands of happy new homeowners. During the Linden Reveal 3 weeks ago, the southern addition to the continent was not public access, so we didn’t get to see the actual regions until the launch on December 16th.
Are these the victorian mini-mansions of your virtual dreams? I waited impatiently along with most of the Bellisseria residents for the 4th Linden Home theme reveal. You can go check them out right now at the SL Christmas Expo, an American Cancer Society charity fundraising event.
From what I can tell, there are 4 victorian home styles to choose from, three of the homes are two-story and one is a single-story cottage. I think the inside walls can be different colors, and the homes all have porches attached, which appears to have the option to select the porch to be on the left or right side of the home.
I don’t know why I’m not that excited about these homes. I think it’s the distressed textures, I am not a fan of super distressed furnishings in SL. I guess I’ll have to see if I can score a mini-victorian on the beach and turn it into a beachy victorian, LOL!! Did I ever tell you guys that I hate grass? Yea, I hate grass.
Have you checked out the new Linden Homes? Will you leave your current Bellisseria home for one of these or get a new account (10% off Premium Membership now) to have one? Let me know in the comments!
Are my neighbors lagging me on Bellisseria? Yes, the more densely populated a region is, the more chances of lag increasing due to scripted objects running on the region and nearby avatars causing you lag. I’ll write a blog post about Avatar Rendering Cost sometime, but I don’t find other avatars to be a problem since I don’t render them. However, since I am living communally on Bellisseria, I do care when my neighbors are using an excessive amount of scripts on their land and increasing lag for everyone on the region. Find out what causes lag and how to reduce lag on the official Second Life wiki.
Hi from the edge of my houseboat on Bellisseria! I never wanted a houseboat until two weeks ago, when I visited a friend’s houseboat. The view outside of the windows reflected gorgeous endless ocean. I fell in love instantly, and prayed to the Linden gods for a houseboat. Prayer answered.
I’m still getting the hang of decorating a houseboat, so it’ll be partially empty for awhile. I wanted a waterfront location to test how the light and sky reflects in the water, cos I’m making some custom EEP settings for personal use in the EEP viewer. Apparently EEP will go live very soon, so I recommend familiarizing yourself with it now!
My neighbor’s house! The best landscaper on the entire street!
Welcome to Ashton Village! I’m a Bellisseria addict enthusiast, anxiously waiting for new regions to go live. I’ve recently added the Bellisseria category to my blog, so you can follow my Bellisseria adventures.
I have acquired and abandoned many Bellisseria homes, when they’re not to my liking for random reasons: too many hedges, being wedged between homes, crooked paths, too close to trees, too many trees, splotchy terrain, etc. The list is pretty hilariously picky. I can afford to be picky on my alt’s house, cos my April 15th home is a beachy lil’ waterfront cottage that I won’t leave! Even though homes are difficult to get, they’re increasingly becoming more abundant! I am usually at work when that the lab launches regions, but it’s not too hard to score an abandoned home. I was so lucky today that I happened to check my phone at the exact time that the region launched.
I have more decor rezzed outside of my Linden Home than inside. I enjoy the sea view and I love virtual fresh air. The Aicha Garden Pod from Cheeky Pea is so cozy and cute, I used what’s left of my prims (or land impact) allowance to make a cozy garden corner. The Aicha Garden Pod includes a HUD to change wood, seat, and pillows colors.
