    Welcome to New Zindra! Thanks a Million, Second Life!

    Welcome to New Zindra

    After 11 rounds of the New Zindra land lottery, what an adventure it’s been! Second Life kept us on our toes, and I had so much fun touching kiosks and running around checking out new land with my friends. What started as a little game turned into some beautiful new places to call our own, and I can’t wait to start making beautiful spaces on New Zindra!

    For anyone who hasn’t been following along, New Zindra is an expansion of Second Life’s existing Adult Mainland continent, Zindra, with 92 new regions. The land was originally added to accommodate residents relocating from Gaeta 1, which Second Life had planned to close. Then came the surprise announcement that Gaeta 1 would remain open after all! Once displaced Gaeta 1 residents had their chance to relocate, Second Life offered the remaining New Zindra parcels through a lottery, giving residents a chance to claim a little piece of the new continent.

    And would you look at that dreamy view behind me? I won this gorgeous island in Hog Tide during the lottery, and I couldn’t be more stoked! I especially like the New Zindra terrain with patches of green grass mixed with sandy beaches, this is not something you can find anywhere else in Second Life. It’s such a pretty combination, and I’m already imagining all the possibilities.

Addams is giving away a $500L gift credit, which is exactly enough for this outfit. Check out all of the rest of the merchants, I hear there are lots of gifts and store credits at this event.

    Hello from Starlight Skies! This is my friend Sparkle’s Linden Home that she turned into a magical sparkly forest. She was able to accomplish a lot on a prims budget! Depending on what happens with region pricing once Linden Lab is fully on the cloud; we might bring back some of our regions. I’m ready to do a beach region and park it next to Sparkle’s sparkly forest.

    Every single time a hair store runs a 50% sale, they launch new textures shortly after the sale. I was pleasantly surprised by the new Magika hair textures – so realistic! I’m a fan of hair stores including all of the colors in one single hud, for one price, and not even the usual “fatpack” prices that clothing brands charge, but just a few hundred lindens ($370L at Magika).

    Unexpected updates are the best! LeLutka will release 4 new bento mesh heads on August 8th, and updating all current bento mesh heads to version 3.0. What’s in v3 you ask? The HUD is slightly different, and now there is a Moods tab that includes 12 default moods with the option to turn the head bone movement on/off.

    I made a short video cycling through all the moods below, check it out! 🙂

    I’m wearing Chloe in this post, cos I haven’t quite narrowed down which head I will wear next. Bento mesh heads have been out for a while, so I feel that there’s enough variety in heads/skins to make us unique looking. Do you still think that “everyone looks the same” in mesh heads or can we be unique now?

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

    In December, LeLutka released the Simone 2.0 Bento Mesh Head and I have worn it exclusively since. I’m even more enamored with Simone now cos LeLutka continually updated the HUD to include more features that makes wearing it even better. Even though I have worn Simone for a little over two months, I truly feel like this has always been ‘my’ face. Being able to tweak is so nice.

    I didn’t expect LeLutka to release another head so quickly, but this is a pleasant surprise! The new LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head is more youthful face than Simone. The lips are y, and the face shape is slightly rounder with more chubby cheeks. Speaking of shape, be ready to tweak. I basically made an entirely new face for myself cos the nose, chin, lips, eyes, are entirely different.

    Will I wear Chloe? Yes! Will I still wear Simone? Yes! I’m having a hard time deciding what is ‘my’ face these days, since I make shape edits and choose skins that are always in the style that I like, they usually end up looking somewhat similar. My friends always says “this looks like you” which always makes me laugh cos they’re referring to default head Gogo, which makes me cringe now! I LOVE MESH HEADS. If you haven’t moved on to mesh heads, why not?

    Do you know what feature I’m most excited about on the latest HUD update? Rerouting – Enables redirecting appliers to a layer of your choosing. I played with it a bit, and still getting the hang of picking the right layer for certain things. The tattoo is the easiest layer to use, cos that layer applies all over the face – so I can put lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, pretty much everything any applier I want on it. The other zones are more restrictive, for example, I can’t put lipstick appliers on brows zone, or eyeshadow appliers on lips zones.
