    Independence Day

    Independence Day

Hello from the 4th of July Block Party! This delightful mainland parcel may be small, but it packs a punch with its many photogenic spots. When it comes to Summer holidays, gingham print always springs to mind, reminiscent of a classic picnic blanket.

To celebrate the Fourth of July, I’m rocking this Spring Tied Halter top from Fashionably Dead. To complete the ensemble, I’ve added the Blair Headband (4th of July print) from Sparkle Skye. Both of these items are part of the weekend sale at their main store, so grab them while you can!

Since transitioning to using a PBR viewer full-time, I’ve been tweaking the colors of my skin and body. I previously wore a body skin from Not Found but have since switched back to The Skinnery. The Luna body skin from The Skinnery is stunning, offering a myriad of options. I’ve reviewed it before, and was thrilled when they released the fabulous Body Bundle—it addresses several of my personal preferences, prompting me to give the body another go. Now, if only skin designers could offer face skins with neck options or none at all, it would make blending with our body skin choices so much easier.

    New Year, New Body

    New Year, New Body
    The Skinnery – Luna BodySkin

For what feels like over ten years, the Pink Fuel body has been my absolute go-to. Somehow I managed to pair it successfully with a variety of bodies and mesh heads. Lately, skin creators seem to focus more on designing just head skins and suggest we find body skins from other brands like Velour. But I’ve kept up, even matching the most recent head skins to my trusted Pink Fuel body.

However, the other day, I felt the urge to try something new for my body skin. What I discovered was fascinating; Second Life brands have outdone themselves. The array of tattoo layer enhancements is staggering. They range from the usual details like wrinkles and body shadows to the more unique ones, including pregnancy looks and scars.

    Blue Monday By Elle

    Not My Problem 2
This past Monday, the media reported extensively on a report by psychologist Cliff Arnall indicating Monday January 16th may be the Bluest Monday in a very long time.  So what was Elle’s typist doing on that particular Monday? Well she was at home, sick and taking photos of her Second Life avatar!

Not My Problem 1I did not feel particularly blue emotionally but for sure I was feeling down physically.   After being in Second Life for almost 10 years, I have found my avatars often are a reflection of myself in Real Life.  Not necessarily say how Elle looks but in how I decorate Elle.  When I am happy I tend to dress her in youthful, colorful clothes.  In a moment when I am down, I might dress her in more dark, subdued tones.  And on Monday, when these photos were taken, she was in a whole lot of black!

Any who, just some random thoughts today.  Details on Elle’s look can be found below.   So until next, take care my friends and have a great Second Life!

    About Face By Elle Couerblanc

About Face - The Skinnery Park Shin

Hello Second Life!  My name is Elle Couerblanc and I will be joining Gogolita and Aems here at JuicyBomb!  I am thrilled to be a part of this team and happy to be back in Second Life.  I have been away from the grid for a while (damn RL) and finally have a bit of breathing room to start enjoying gaming once again.  It has been close to almost two years since I was around regularly (only popping in now and then to say hello to everyone) and so much has changed!

You might be asking what dragged me back into SL (besides my friend of course) after all this time.  Well the answer is simple my friends – BENTO!  When mesh heads first came out, I hated them…..HATED…..THEM and felt like the uniqueness of avatar creation was gone forever.  But Bento has changed this perception for me and I cannot wait to start exploring SL again.

So join me friends on my adventures in Second Life and of course with a bit of fashion sense along the way.  A little about me and my photos:  I do use some Photoshop techniques – largely using Actions to enhance rather than to take away.  I don’t edit facial features though when I post about skin, such with this photo featuring Park Shin from The Skinnery found at Collabor88.  I also enjoy reinventing Elle fairly regularly:  meaning I am not tied to a specific ethnicity, hair color, size etc.  Also, I am bit slow to the latest trends and releases so I might post about something that might be OMG a MONTH OLD!  Furthermore I am a bit lazy about SLurls (LOL) but I will do my best to change this nasty habit.

Anywho, enough of chattering – details of my look can be found below. So in closing, take care my friends and have a great Second Life!

Edited to add:  Excuse my renoobness in my forgetting to bump up my antialias in this photo. It is not as crisp as normal.  I will do better next time folks!
