AOHARU released an adorable Ruffle Romper outfit in floral patterns and solid colors. I knew Wilma would pick up a few for herself so I invited her to snap some pictures with me for my rompers post!
This Ruffle Romper also includes a pair of longer pants (similar to capris) so you’re getting two styles in one!
Last time when I posed with Wilma, I mentioned how difficult it was to find poses for two girl friends so Annah Whitfield sent me a few from her shop. I’m using the Best Friends pose from StoRin and it’s just perfect. I didn’t know StoRin had so many friends poses, so they’ll come in handy when I need ’em for blogging in the future.
I’m ready for autumn, pumpkin spice lattes, and all the cozy clothing that goes along with the season. The Arcade opened yesterday! To my surprise, there are some fabulous autumn decor and clothing available. I am wearing the Fall Essentials and Fall Vibes items from Reign. This gacha offering has such a nice color palette. I picked up the cardigan and dress in several colors, so I can mix-and-match them later.
Are you ready for autumn too? Let me know in the comments!
What I’m Wearing:
Stealthic – Sensual
Reign – Oxley Cardigan (Mustard)
Reign – Oxley Wrinkled Dress (Cherry)
Reign – Oxley Woven Boots
Reign – Fall Vibes Traveler Bag (The Romantic #13)
Empire – Letter Necklace (Gold) G
I’m so excited about these new Exile hair textures! I’ve snapped a random assortment of 20 colors that I thought were fantastic, but there are LOTS more choices available. Brunettes and Red Heads will LOVE these, cos while I was photographing I noticed that I liked so many of them. Here are the colors that I picked out, listed in order:
Row 1: aqua, auburn, blizzard, candy, champagne
Row 2: chestnut, chili, coffee, copper, whiskey
Row 3: earth, fall, greystone, harlow, hotstreak
Row 4: kindred, mink, nutmeg, pearl, tropic
I don’t know when the new styles & textures will be out, but I hope you liked the sneak peek 🙂
Happy New Year! I think the future of Second Life skins is leaning into more textured looks, which adds to realism. I don’t usually love textured skins, but they do look so much more realistic than the smooth, flat skin we’re used to. That shift is really obvious with this new Madeline skin from Glam Affair. It’s very textured and very freckled, and while that isn’t normally my preference, I ended up loving it. I did tone it down a little with a few of Izzie’s tattoo fixes, which helped balance everything out.
That move toward texture feels closely tied to PBR, which is now being added not just to environments but to avatars as well. Because of that, I expect skins to keep changing in 2026, adding more depth in ways that make our avatars look more real and less flat. Even though PBR has some interesting moments, I still think it’s unfortunately a turn off for a lot of current residents. Change is difficult, especially when you’ve been around long enough to remember how things looked before. Maybe newer residents, who don’t have that comparison, will like it more.
All of this ties into the bigger picture of where Second Life is right now. When I decided to close my region at the end of 2024, I had a strong feeling that 2025 was going to be a difficult year in real life, and that it made sense to pull back spending in Second Life. I’m glad I stuck to that decision all year and didn’t bring the region back, even though I wanted to at least a dozen times. I also won’t be bringing it back in 2026 because of the economy, both in Second Life and in real life. There isn’t a lot of growth yet, and it feels like the Lindens are panicking.
I recently watched a snippet of an interview with Brett Linden on MetaRealities’ YouTube channel, and what really stood out to me was how much growth is needed for survival. Needed. Not just for Second Life as a company, but for the creators who make a living here. You can only get so much out of the current residents, which is why attracting new people feels so urgent right now.
So I’m ending one year and starting the next in a much calmer mindset. I rang in the New Year in this cozy Eboshi pajamas set from Aurun at Anthology. Comfort and chill is the vibe I’m going for this holiday season, so I paired them with the Not Tired Bow Slips from The Kiwi Co.
Fae Eriksen of Fishy Strawberry is a relatively new skin maker but is already making gorgeous faces & beautiful makeups. The Lan skins is one of the two faces that have just been released. The Lan skins comes in 12 different makeups and includes light and dark brows, and also hair base option for those that like it.
If you need a new skins fix RIGHT NOW, visit Fishy Strawberry, the skins are out! 🙂
I'm wearing a comfy new outfit from elymode. The Lounging pants & Lounging sweater are separates that you can mix-and-match, but they also match so well with each other. There's also matching Cami & Panties (not shown here) for sale at the shop.
I went to bitterCandy to pick up the free wardrobe set and found some top quality clothes there. Kal Rau is a Brazilian designer and creator of KR (which sells mostly men’s fashion) and bitterCandy which features casual women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.
[bitterCandy – Jean Shorts + Belt | bitterCandy – Striped Hoodie | bitterCandy – Allanis Top NO Stress Pink | Dutch Touch – socks | KR – Street Next shoes (Black & Next Flower2 print)
Ohh.. I love these KR Street next shoes, especially the pink Hawaiian print! <3
Yum textures..
[Shown above is all the KR – Street Next shoes with flower print]
Even though I mostly shop for girl stuff, I have to mention that KR mostly has men’s clothing!!! All the clothes are transferable so it makes gift giving a breeze. I would totally recommend that guys check out this shop for some stylish casual wear.
I don’t like to give feedback unless it’s to very close friends who I know won’t take offense when I say, “What’s up with your skin tone? Why is it orange? Uhh your lips are uneven. I hate the brows… bla bla bla.”
I’m BRUTAL.
A lot of people ask me for feedback on new skins but I find it very hard to give honest feedback (like I said, I only reserve those for very close friends), because I don’t want to be the “mean critical one.” I’ve had instances in the past where people have said, “hey Gogo! Why are you such a bitch! You can’t even make skins, what gives you the right to tear people dowwwwwwwnn!” Well, they asked for it. And even if they didn’t, it’s for sale. I’m a customer, I can comment.
I find that honest feedback is very very hard to give. Many people think they’re giving honest feedback when they’re just holding back.
I hold back.
Unless I’ve known you for awhile and I know that you really want to improve (sell more).
I cringe whenever I see people saying “aww it’s gorgeous! I love it! SO SO HOT” when the item is obviously not? I know that my preference for something may not always be everyone’s preference, but generally MOST people can agree on what is fug, and what is not.
Hey, Gogo, what viewer are you using and in what settings when you take these pics? I’m using Emerald but even with gorgeous windlight settings I can’t get this level of crispness AND detail and shadows/highlights. TY 🙂
You and Wilma look super cute in those rompers <3
