I have been looking forward to Laqroki’s skins since getting the notice yesterday. There are four different faces to choose from, I chose something that looked like a cross between the previous Tasha skin (one of my favs) and Alison. I’m wearing Laqroki’s Jasmin skin above, with natural makeup and a creamy smooth complexion. It was hard to decide between Fair or Peach skin tone, but ultimately I chose Fair because it’s Winter and I needed something to go with my CreamShop Linen Stole Muffler.
The body is quite possibly the most realistic available on the grid right now. I like the new ‘bare’ kitty, and it seems like the body shading has been completely updated with this new line.
This skin is classy, so I’m going to end this post with a pic of myself wearing a gorgeous jacket with frilly cuffs from SN@TCH, part of the Velvet Goldmine outfit.
Let’s talk about lashes. I’m always searching for the perfect pair of lashes, cos even after all this time in SL, I have not found the perfect one. My friend Caroline said that the new Izzie’s mesh lashes were easy to fit and included a HUD to change the styles, so I had to try it for myself. I’m always in favor of things with HUDs that offers a lot options. She was right, these Izzie’s mesh lashes did look nice on, and they’re very fine (alpha texture, applied on top & bottom mesh prims).
Next, I tried on the newly updated full mesh lashes from LeLutka. These lashes are mesh prims, not alpha textures. They fit well, and won’t glitch with alpha hair, but to me they look too chunky for casual wear. I do love the color changing HUD, and the colors look fantastic when paired with fantasy hair colors.
Have I found the perfect pair of lashes? Not really. The search continues, but I will probably wear Izzie’s quite often, and layer it with other lashes for a fuller effect. That’s my super not-so-secret trick to having fabulous and lush lashes in SL!

Another round of Anthology has just opened, and the item that immediately caught my eye is the Captain’s Lullaby decor set from James&Dew. This captivating set includes a decorative chandelier crafted from bottles and ship pieces, along with candles nestled in bottles, all evoking a delightful DIY old-world charm. I absolutely adore how these items have been repurposed, making them perfect for a rustic or cottage-themed setting.
As I delved into the description on Flickr, I was intrigued by the mention of a hidden surprise. Curiosity piqued, I meticulously searched and eventually uncovered a hidden treasure! While I don’t want to give away the surprise, I can assure you it’s definitely worth exploring. Who knows? You might find treasures that have washed up on the shore somewhere. I’m thrilled about this treasure hunt feature, as I have a soft spot for nautical-themed items.
I must say, it’s quite bold of James&Dew to release this set with PBR textures only, sans fallback. This decision highlights their forward-thinking approach. As Second Life progresses, we’re moving beyond older texturing methods. For those unable to view PBR textures, the fallback is a blank white texture, but it’s high time designers focus on the future. Continually supporting outdated texturing methods is a tall order, and it’s refreshing to see creators embracing advancement.
To showcase the stunning PBR textures of the Captain’s Lullaby set, I created a short video. I rezzed a reflection probe in the entire room, although it’s not necessary to enjoy the beauty of PBR items. The probe merely enhanced the reflections, making them more focused. In fact, foregoing the additional reflection probe might even reduce lag, as regions already have auto probes, albeit less concentrated.
So, embark on this nautical adventure with the Captain’s Lullaby set, and who knows what hidden gems you might discover along the way!
Hello from the Second Life app on my iPhone 14 Pro! Welcome back to the second installment of our miniature video journey. An observant viewer commented about the portrait orientation on my last video, so I took the suggestion and filmed this video in landscape mode!
This time around, I’m wearing the complimentary Ballus Avatar Torley Tribute. Frankly, I was over the whole drab default avatar look but couldn’t muster the enthusiasm to splurge or spend ages customizing a new one.
I’ve gotten heaps of inquiries about the ability to sit on the mobile app. It’s a big deal! Whether it’s dancing with a partner on pose ball, chilling on some digital furniture, cruising in style, or engaging in more…intimate encounters, people just need to sit! So, I teleported to the Isle of View, plopped myself down on a pose ball, and after some trial and error, figured out how to get back on my feet. Slow walking is also in my skill set now, though that navigation wheel is still challenging.
Dutch Touch has 3 new skins out and a couple of makeup sets for each skin. I tried them on and settled on this newest Fay face, cos I liked the tattoo lipstick choices and I think the brows are just perfect.
I like that Dutch Touch has just one Basic skin for each face, and sells tattoo makeup packs as add-ons. I hope more skin designers considers selling skins this way, to offer customers more customization and also — the base skin was reasonable priced at $1250L and the lipsticks were $450-$500L per pack. These lipsticks will also work on some other skins in SL (there’s no demo), so you’ll have to take a chance if you want to wear it with a skin other than Dutch Touch.
Although I’m wearing Blonde hair here, I think Fay (along with many of DT skins) is more suited for a light Brown to dark Brown hair color. The brows options only includes Brown and Dark brows, but plenty of hair bases (on tattoo layer) to choose from! It’s too bad I don’t really wear hair base, ever, but I want to try…. maybe next year?
One of my gripes about this skin is the dark nostrils. When I saw the preview picture on Flickr, I thought that it looked too dark — and especially more prominent on lighter skin tones.
I’m wearing the new Rhapsody Tunic from Friday; I just love the skinny lil belt! I’m suppose to be cleaning my inventory but I think it just went up a few hundred items 😀
This Lili Sheer outfit from Mutresse is very well-made and designed. I’m impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into designing this item to have maximum customization options. I’m wearing 3 parts – the Lili Sheer Blouse, Skirt, and Sleeves. They can be worn together or separately, paired with other items.
Why am I so impressed with this item? Just take a look at the HUD! Each of the main parts are texture-changeable, and the edging is also color-changeable. This lil’ detail about the edging thrills me; I just loooove when things have a stellar HUD. Also, my inventory can’t really deal with ‘fatpacks’ with over 100 pieces — thank god for all-in-one HUDs!
I’m at the beach, cos my last few pics were shot on my platform, so I felt like I needed to go somewhere with a more interesting backdrop.
