Guys, read this! If you’ve ever wanted to make a girl BEYOND HAPPY, send her Donna Flora jewels, and lots of it. I’m kind of hard to shop for since I already have most Donna Flora items, but if I didn’t already, these would be at the top of my wishlist.
Besides the fact that they’re gorgeous and affordable, all Donna Flora jewelry sets are no copy/trans. You don’t have to wait for a gift vendor, just buy it and box it up, and give it yourself 🙂
If you’re not on X (Twitter), you really should be. I use a few different platforms to keep up with Second Life news, but lately I’ve been enjoying X more because it gives me a nice mix of real world updates too. The algorithm is surprisingly good at surfacing tech content I care about, like the latest in AI. Today I came across a fun tweet that inspired me to try something new. I turned my Second Life avatar into a figurine.
All you have to do is go to Google Gemini and enter this prompt:
Create a 1/7 scale commercialized figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, in a real environment. The figurine is placed on a computer desk. The figurine has a round transparent acrylic base, with no text on the base. The content on the computer screen is a 3D modeling process of this figurine. Next to the computer screen is a toy packaging box, designed in a style reminiscent of high-quality collectible figures, printed with original artwork. The packaging features two-dimensional flat illustrations.
From photo to figurine style in just one prompt.
People are having fun turning their photos into images of custom miniature figures, thanks to nano-banana in Gemini. Try a pic of yourself, a cool nature shot, a family photo, or a shot of your pup.
For my Gemini photo, it took a few tries with Second Life snapshots before the app accepted one. Eventually I uploaded a full body shot and within seconds it generated the cutest figurine photo. I even tweaked the prompt to add some flowers to my desk. To get good results, you’ll want a clear picture of your avatar against a plain background. I was impressed that it captured my clothing and accessories so well and it really does look like Gogo in SL.
Try this and let me know what you think! Don’t you want a doll of your Second Life avatar? I know I do!
Everyone on my Flickr stream is doing this challenge today, so I thought I would give it a go.
#SLBareFaceChallenge
To participate simply post a photo of your avatar no lashes, no makeup, no enhancements and no PS!
Challenge started by Genkai Tesla.
I’ve stripped most of my usual tattoo makeup off, no eyeliner, no blush, and wearing only nude lipgloss. I removed my usual thick prim lashes and replaced it with a very subtle (natural) pair of short lashes. You can barely see it! I know the challenge says ‘no lashes’ but you wouldn’t clip off your lashes in real life, when doing a bare face challenge!

My shape (current) | My shape (downturned corners/previously) | Frowny Mouth example | Smiley Mouth example
Have you ever looked back at your older shapes and thought, why did I think that looked good!?
I’ve had a couple of those moments throughout the years in SL, but my most recent shape disaster moment came when I realized I didn’t really like the downturned corners on my mouth anymore. I fixed it right away, but I was careful not to make it smiley mouth! I guess I like a neutral expression more than something that looked unhappy or psychotic.
Did you have any shape disasters in SL? What was something that you use to like, but now you don’t?
SL furniture have the craziest poses! When I find something to sit on, the built-in poses rarely ever fit me. I sat on this old chair at Baja Sands, slowed down the animation in SL, and waited patiently to capture the exact moment where my head faces forward and my hands do not intersect with my legs. It took longer to get a good shot this way, than if I had used my own poses, but I felt like a challenge today!
Today’s post is about the new feet update from SLink. Read the post over at SLink’s blog for all the news that you need to know. I’m really excited about the new HUD in the Deluxe Pack, new feet styles, and the ability to control left and right foot styles separately (great for photos!).
