Soda cans in my hair!! I wonder why the cans aren’t empty though, cos my head is feeling a lil’ heavy! I love when random things are re-purposed and recycled, so I really love the creativity of this Recycle hairstyle from Ploom. The cans are color-changing via the hair color HUD. This hair is perfect for many different situations, as for me, I’m getting ready!
It seems the skin scene in Second Life is undergoing some baffling changes when it comes to skin textures. I’m noticing designers are insisting on baking directional lighting effects right onto the skin, and it’s throwing the symmetry off balance. The most striking thing? This trend has migrated from faces down to the chest area. I got a taste of this with the latest Hera body skin from Not Found, which left my avatar’s breasts looking somewhat mismatched, a far cry from ideal.
Let me tell you, the difference in shading is quite noticeable. Whenever I come across a skin that’s not quite up to par, my go-to solution is to dash over to Izzie’s. She’s practically sainthood in the realm of virtual skin dilemmas, not just for her friendly attitude but for her lifesaving tattoo overlays that rectify the little quirks that drive me nuts. Izzie has conjured up an ingenious fix – a subtle shadow adjustment that works to balance out the tonal disparities.
My look today is inspired by this new Revolutionary Tee from Fishy Strawberry. Each tee includes 3 different prints, sculpted sleeves & bottom, and adorable vintage pins! These tees, along with other Fishy Strawberry newness are available at Culture Shock.
I love the hippie girl look, and I hope you guys like it too! A pair of ANEXX sandals, this new Girly Briefcase from The Secret Store, and a yellow artilleri hair flower completes the look.
Most people know this iconic line from Gone with the Wind, but have they actually sat through all four hours of the movie? If you haven’t, you should at least once. Scarlett O’Hara isn’t exactly likable, but she was a survivor, and that’s probably why she’s remained such a memorable character all these years later.
I recently rewatched Gone with the Wind to get in the mood for photographing my current obsession from this round of The Arcade.
My friends were absolutely gushing over the Monique dress from PurpleMoon, and of course we all wanted the rare Floral version. With the right styling, it looks like something Scarlett herself might have worn while dramatically descending a staircase at Tara. As you all know, I have a weakness for period-inspired fashion, so even though the print does remind me a little bit of a floral sofa, I was willing to overlook that minor detail. The gloves are a lovely touch, and I’m even wearing the matching heels underneath the dress, though you can’t see them in these photos.
I normally don’t pay much attention to gacha these days, but once in a blue moon I’ll keep playing until I get exactly what I want.
Speaking of that famous line, let’s circle back to it for a moment.
The thing amusing me this week is watching some designers encourage other creators to drop support for LaraX, while also suggesting customers should simply switch bodies instead.
This dress is made for LaraX. I bought it because it’s made for LaraX. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have.
I’ve never switched mesh bodies just to wear a particular outfit, and I probably never will. If something isn’t made for the body I’m using, I move on. There is so much talent in Second Life that no single brand is irreplaceable.
Until something better comes along, I’ll continue wearing Maitreya LaraX. It does everything I need it to do. It’s funny to me that there are still residents happily wearing system bodies, yet some people act as though using a mesh body that’s still one of the most widely supported on the grid somehow makes you outdated.
I’m not resistant to change. I’m not afraid of trying new things. I’m just not interested in switching to something that doesn’t offer me anything better than what I already have.
Dance, dance, dance! The new Quadro Dance HUDs from Animazoo is packed with original dance animations and so many features to make dancing in Second Life fun and easy!
I have been playing around with both of the HUDs — the Quadro Ladies Dancefloor Edition, and the Quadro Stage Performer Edition. Each HUD is packed with 35 of Animazoo’s bestselling dance animations in various dance styles perfect for hanging out at the club or performing on stage!
For the videos below, I recorded more than 40 minutes of footage cos the HUD is packed with so many dances, but I edited them into two short videos. The video probably shows only 10% of the dances that are available in these HUDs, so definitely visit Animazoo and try it out for yourself!
The Lite version of the Dance HUD (has basic features only) is also available at the store for free, and you can put your own dance animations into it.
Do you love to dance? What’s your favorite shop for dance animations? Leave me a comment cos I’m looking for new ones to create new dance sequences for my HUD!
These new SLink Tabitha Plateau Pumps are just gorgeous!! They were released before Halloween so Siddean included a really great metal web detail that can be toggled on/off via the HUD. I really love a great pair of pumps, and I definitely needed more with Alpha layer since I plan on deleting all of my (old) shoes without alpha versions included.
A close-up of the cute lil spider found at the heel. So cute!
The love the Tabitha fatpack because it includes a HUD to change heels & sole texture to any of the 11 colors available. I didn’t make any crazy color combinations, but you can! These shoes will be perfect for the holidays cos you can matching anything and everything!
Aw, nobody wears pink as well as your avi! Love this, and those shoes are very cute.
Looks like a recycle of Tiny Bird’s Sodom South Georgia hair.
Though mesh and slightly more glamorous.
