Milana hair
Milana (hair) is a collaboration between two designers, Asuka Martin of Dernier Cri and Sharifa Morenz. This new brand launches with a bang! All 20 styles are released at once, and they’re ssssmoking hot.
Fans of Dernier Cri will find this Hair Dye Menu HUD familar, cos Milana uses the same one. I really like this HUD, it reduces inventory clutter, and also shows me the full range of colors available. However, in laggy situations, the recoloring process can take up to a minute to complete and you may have to press the color selection more than once for all the prims to change.
Although these two creators are using the same textures, I find their style very different. Asuka’s hairs are very beautiful but a little on the small side and Sharifa’s hairs are larger and chunkier.
I’m definitely very excited to see what else Milana releases, cos I just love their hair texture (colors) choices. Strawberry Pink hair <3!

Know your Mesh Lashes
I love lashes, my avatar feels naked without them! I won’t go anywhere without my prim/mesh lashes, so I’m always looking for new ones to add to my collection. Mon Cheri just released the new Falsies lashes that includes a fantastic HUD to change between 3 styles, and different textures style such as Solid, Dipped, Glitter, Natural, or even plain White, so you can tint them any color you want!
I think that these lashes are really nice, and easy to fit, but they’re also very full & long. When I wear these, I will probably not wear the lower lashes, and just wear the top lashes + some more subtle lower lashes. The Mon Cheri lash pack includes a top prim, bottom prim, plus top+bottom prim.
A lot of people don’t know the difference between their mesh lashes, cos I see the same questions being asked over and over again. The most popular one is, “Why are my lashes clumpy?” Because you’re wearing mesh Individual Prim Lashes or Sculpted Prim Lashes (these are the only two styles that will clump). There’s probably a fix to this, but not if you like to have your graphics set to Ultra & with shadows turned on.
A Guide to Lashes:
Mesh Individual Prim Lashes = Individual lashes, no alpha glitching, will clump from far away.
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes = Single prim with alpha texture applied, does NOT clump, has alpha glitch with the default lash (darn bug that LL fixes, and breaks with each viewer update).
Other lash styles:
Prim Alpha Lashes = What we all have. They’re just regular prims with alpha texture applied. I love these though, cos the lashes are so fine & pretty!
Sculpted Prim Lashes = Similar to Mesh Individual Lashes
Texture Lashes = tattoo layer
Mesh Alpha Texture Lashes are great! I love my S@R ones, but I usually pair it with something else on the top lashes to make it fuller. To have really great lashes, you should wear the lash alpha to get rid of the default SL lashes AND add a black eyeliner, this will fill in any gaps and create a nice smooth line where the prim meets your eyelid.

Mesh eyelids were all the rage this week! I saw a bunch of people wear these, but I thought the eyelids looked huge and doll-like! I went ahead and purchase a set so I could play around with it, and also Iris’ mesh eyelids review on NWN convinced me that they would be a good investment now (she mentioned that SLink updates products, so maybe future versions will have more options).
I re-sized the mesh eyelids smaller, and also pulled my Eye Depth slider to 0 for a better fit. Tinting the eyelids to match my skin was super easy. There is no HUD or script, so you just have to edit the prims and fill in a color from the color-picker. You can go with flesh tones or something more colorful to mimic eyeshadow.

Overall, I like these. If you want to do a lot of close-eyed pictures without spending tons of time PS’ing, this is worth the money. It’s not super realistic looking, but definitely better than PS’ing. This mesh eyelids pack also comes with a pair of mesh lashes, which were difficult to fit because the lower & upper lashes are one prim so you couldn’t position them separately, and they didn’t look that fine (kinda spiky).
I looove this outfit! This may be the cutest outfit I’ve work in a long time, it’s simple but so doll-like.

Last week I was in search of a well done urban based sim for the above photo of Ms. Elle. Even in my SL past, urban sims could be seriously hit and miss and were often not updated. Honestly I had absolutely no idea where to even start when I began this endeavor but I had an idea in my head for this photo that I wasn’t willing to let go. To remedy this, I went directly to my beloved Explore Second Life group on Flickr to find a spot that might work for me. One of the few urban sims that popped up after searching a few pages was one called Sexy Cat. Yeah I know…I should have gotten a hint from the sim name but it seemed “clean” in the photos and well done therefore I thought to myself – Mission Accomplished!
Any who, I popped on over and found the sim to be relatively uninhabited – the only other avi on the sim had a profile description that more or less said “Second Life Explorer”. So I sent Elle on a nice leisurely stroll in search of that perfect photo spot – something that would make this outfit definitely stand out. As Elle made her way around the place, I went through a mental check list in my head: Nice urban grunge feel (check), Bodega like stores (check), nice use of colors (check) and once the spot was found I was definitely ready to Rock and Roll!
Well midway through my photo taking a shadow appears on my screen and it stays there for a good long while. Of course in my head I am thinking “Dude, I am standing here not moving, looking like a dumb ass so….GET OUTTA THE WAY!” Then the familiar “ding, ding” happens and I get this IM from the male resident:

Because regardless of anyone’s reason for being in Second Life, as long as you can legally buy cigarettes in the US and it involves others who can legally buy cigarettes as well (AND are on the same page as you), you are definitely entitled to live out your dreams in Second Life, whatever they may be! Rock on with your ePeens friends, just avoid the Blingis if you can!
