Bijou released this dress a few days ago that I knew I had to have, I love the feminine flower print and fantastic one-piece sculpted skirt. I wanted to wear this gown with an updo hairstyle, and then I spotted the new Emmanuelle hairstyle from Exile and they go together perfectly.
Here's Exile Emmanuelle hairstyle in a bunch of colors, it all looks good!! I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite. Even though I'm normally a Blonde, I thought the Strawberry hair color is really excellent and went well with my new Green eyes.
Ooooh, but I like Brunette too…

Siddean Munro has been hard at work adding even more fabulous new makeups to her latest Isabelle skins available at SLink later today. Shown below is the Isabelle Makeup 13 in Fair tone. This one is my favorites and I’m officially renaming it Barbie makeup, even though all the skins don’t really have a name. I love this pink glossy lips and baby blue and pink eyeshadow combo, its perfect for platinum Blonde hair.
The body shading is fantastic and totally reminds me of roller blading at the beach, so I put on some Canimal Blingphones and VOGEL‘s latest bikini release!! I’m wearing the Skull Logo print above. <3

One last close-up of my favorite Barbie makeup….

Alice Project released a few mesh hairstyles a few days ago, and they looked really nice on the vendor images so I immediately went to try them on. I decided to pick up this Amiya hairstyle in Blonde and to me, it looks amazing, but from the picture you can’t tell if it’s mesh hair or regular sculpted prim hair. The difference is not noticeable in still images, but you’ll see that the hair does not ‘sink’ into the chest when shifting poses.
Each hair color (I bought the Blonde pack) is scripted to change 5 different colors, and also a choice of Non-Tipped, Black Tips, Dark Tips, Light Tips, and White Tips.
As of right now, you cannot mod, resize, stretch, or edit mesh hair in any way but you can tint the whole thing (yayyyy). When trying on any mesh hair demo, if it does not fit you perfectly, either resize your head to fit OR don’t buy it. When I clicked on my hair to try and edit, there was a box around it and… well it doesn’t edit. LOL!! This hair fits me perfectly, so I took the plunge and purchased it, but a few of the other ones didn’t fit quite so well.
Here’s a few images I took of the area on this hairstyle that bends and stretches, so you guys can kind of see mesh hair ‘in action’.

While sorting my inventory today, I realized that I have lots and lots of Donna Flora jewelry! I love this brand so much, and even though Donna Flora has clothes, hair, and shoes, my favorite items are the beautiful jewelry sets.
I’ve decided to sort through my huge pile and make a collage of 10 of my favorite Donna Flora necklaces. It was hard to pick just 10, cos there’s soooo many more that are equally beautiful.
I like Donna Flora cos every necklace is unique, and so realistic! Also, Valentine’s Day is next month, and I highly recommend Donna Flora if you’re looking for gifts for someone special. Everything is transferable 🙂
What about you? Where do you get your jewelry from? Make a collage of 10 jewelry pieces that you love from any single brand, or a mix of brands in SL! Blog about your favorite brand or make a collage, and submit it to the Blog Challenge group on Flickr. Be sure to share a link in the comments so I can check it out!
I’d say gacha is back, but let’s be real, it never left. I’ve been in Second Life long enough that the thrill of gachas wore off ages ago, well before they were officially banned. Blind buying duplicates got old fast. At some point, I stopped chasing full sets and rares. I just didn’t care anymore.
I have a lot of friends who are still deep in the gacha game. I’ve been there too, dropping L$3,000 to L$5,000 on a single machine just to complete a set. It happens.
So yeah, I’m a little surprised to see gacha returning in its original form. Miepon had its flaws, sure, but at least you could see what was coming next. Even if it wasn’t the item you wanted, the transparency was better than the old-school roulette wheel. Gacha is a form of shopping torture. You might get what you want, but chances are, you won’t. Designers love it though. In their own words, it made them a lot more money. And that’s what this is really about: profit. Your money going into their pockets.
I’ve always compared gachas to MLMs. Once you buy in, you’re stuck reselling the stuff you don’t want, unless you’re okay taking a loss. That means wasting time listing duplicates at yardsales or on Marketplace. Or, if you’re feeling generous, giving them away to friends like a broke fairy godmother.
Sure, people are excited gacha’s back, but ask yourself why these events are popping up again so fast. One is launching in two weeks. It’s all about the cash flow. Designers cash in, events need regions (which means more money going to Linden Lab), and shoppers? We’re just the endless source of funding.
I’ll still pull the occasional gacha if it’s really good. But most of the time, I’m fine with whatever I get. I don’t chase anymore. I already have too much. And yet, like the little addict I am, I keep getting more, until my inventory overwhelms me and I start deleting things in bulk. Sometimes I wonder if my entire presence in Second Life is just one long donation to the system.
Because in the end, this game, for me at least, is a shopping game.
A few days ago, my friend messaged me asking what I was up to. My response? “Fixing my nostrils.” She replied, “I’ve never looked that closely at my face.” I can’t imagine not doing so! I constantly scrutinize my face, and I’ve yet to find the perfect skin in Second Life. The ability to layer up to 60 items simultaneously has truly transformed my virtual beauty routine.
For several years now, I rarely wear a base skin without adding some modifications. I owe much of this to Izzie’s, a brand that seems to fix every flaw in any skin. I humorously call Izzie Button “Dr. Izzie” because whenever my skin needs a tweak, I turn to her creations. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the Nostril Changer BoM layer. While I wasn’t particularly displeased with my original nostrils, the upgrade has made a noticeable improvement. Sometimes, designers add excess shading, which can appear too dark for my taste, but this nostril set keeps it subtle.
The Nostril Changer offers various styles, primarily differing in shading size, but my favorite feature is the optional highlight. It makes such a difference! I’ve also been adding more shine to my face using Izzie’s Highlighter Set. I dislike skins with baked-in shine but love those that include a tattoo gloss or shine layer. Glam Affair used to include this in their skins, though they seem to have stopped for some reason. With the release of PBR lighting, I think the demand for face highlights and gloss will rise, as it provides a nicer glow that matches the environment. When applied subtly, it’s fantastic; too much shine, though, can make you look like you’re wrapped in plastic.
