    Remember Me

    Remember Me

Just when I think Second Life content can’t possibly get any better, it does get better, and that is the most exciting thing about being a consumer. This is the first time that I’ve seen bento animated hair, and I’m already craving more! I’ve seen animated hair from other brands, but I don’t know if they were bento or some other scripted method. Exile just released a few bento hairstyles, add them to your must have list! Watch the videos (Palace & Over the Edge) to see the animations! The hairstyles are even more stunning in-world cos the animations are so smooth.

    Remember Me

How darling is this Vintage Blouse from ANE? I love the front of this blouse, it’s pleated and very pretty. Then I turned around, and I love the back even more! Vintage with a twist!

    What I’m Wearing:

    Exile – Palace (Bento)
ANE – Vintage Blouse @ The Vintage Fair
The Secret Store – Yulia Flare Skirt (Navy)
    Ingenue – Lisbet Heels (Navy) @ Collabor88

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

In December, LeLutka released the Simone 2.0 Bento Mesh Head and I have worn it exclusively since. I’m even more enamored with Simone now cos LeLutka continually updated the HUD to include more features that makes wearing it even better. Even though I have worn Simone for a little over two months, I truly feel like this has always been ‘my’ face. Being able to tweak is so nice.

I didn’t expect LeLutka to release another head so quickly, but this is a pleasant surprise! The new LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head is more youthful face than Simone. The lips are y, and the face shape is slightly rounder with more chubby cheeks. Speaking of shape, be ready to tweak. I basically made an entirely new face for myself cos the nose, chin, lips, eyes, are entirely different.

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

Will I wear Chloe? Yes! Will I still wear Simone? Yes! I’m having a hard time deciding what is ‘my’ face these days, since I make shape edits and choose skins that are always in the style that I like, they usually end up looking somewhat similar. My friends always says “this looks like you” which always makes me laugh cos they’re referring to default head Gogo, which makes me cringe now! I LOVE MESH HEADS. If you haven’t moved on to mesh heads, why not?

    LeLutka Chloe Bento Mesh Head

Do you know what feature I’m most excited about on the latest HUD update? ReroutingEnables redirecting appliers to a layer of your choosing. I played with it a bit, and still getting the hang of picking the right layer for certain things. The tattoo is the easiest layer to use, cos that layer applies all over the face – so I can put lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, pretty much everything any applier I want on it. The other zones are more restrictive, for example, I can’t put lipstick appliers on brows zone, or eyeshadow appliers on lips zones.

    Magika – Fool for Love
ALT by Truth – Paddington Sweater

    Water Horse Riding Horse

    Water Horse Riding Horse

EDIT: These horses are limited availability for now, so only about 40 of them are released to beta testers. You must wear the Water Horse group tag to purchase the horse. Water Horse will sell horses freely again when they iron out the bento head deformity bug.

Bento has been pretty fun so far! I’ve purchased a few things, such as the Medhue Elephant and Red Remora’s Fennec Fox avs. Both are Bento-enabled and add a lot of fun to playing SL.

So, here’s a new creation to add to this list: Water Horse has released their Riding Horse for beta testing. It’s a wearable vehicle but uses Bento bones to animate the mesh. No more claymation texture cycling! Your avatar will look like it’s riding a real horse in-game.

    Check out this preview:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kEQAg12jSk]

Seriously. This exists in SL now. And currently, the horse is going for about 3500L. Less than a mesh head! That’s a steal.

A few caveats if you buy the horse: it’s still in beta so there are bugs. They’re currently fixing a bug that deforms Bento heads when you ride the horse. They’re also looking for users to report anything else that’s wrong so the devs can fix it.

    But in return?

I still think it’s worth it.

    About Face By Elle Couerblanc

About Face - The Skinnery Park Shin

Hello Second Life!  My name is Elle Couerblanc and I will be joining Gogolita and Aems here at JuicyBomb!  I am thrilled to be a part of this team and happy to be back in Second Life.  I have been away from the grid for a while (damn RL) and finally have a bit of breathing room to start enjoying gaming once again.  It has been close to almost two years since I was around regularly (only popping in now and then to say hello to everyone) and so much has changed!

You might be asking what dragged me back into SL (besides my friend of course) after all this time.  Well the answer is simple my friends – BENTO!  When mesh heads first came out, I hated them…..HATED…..THEM and felt like the uniqueness of avatar creation was gone forever.  But Bento has changed this perception for me and I cannot wait to start exploring SL again.

So join me friends on my adventures in Second Life and of course with a bit of fashion sense along the way.  A little about me and my photos:  I do use some Photoshop techniques – largely using Actions to enhance rather than to take away.  I don’t edit facial features though when I post about skin, such with this photo featuring Park Shin from The Skinnery found at Collabor88.  I also enjoy reinventing Elle fairly regularly:  meaning I am not tied to a specific ethnicity, hair color, size etc.  Also, I am bit slow to the latest trends and releases so I might post about something that might be OMG a MONTH OLD!  Furthermore I am a bit lazy about SLurls (LOL) but I will do my best to change this nasty habit.

Anywho, enough of chattering – details of my look can be found below. So in closing, take care my friends and have a great Second Life!

Edited to add:  Excuse my renoobness in my forgetting to bump up my antialias in this photo. It is not as crisp as normal.  I will do better next time folks!

    Beanie

    Beanie

If you bought a LeLutka Simone Bento head, how do you like it? I love it of course, but I’m still waiting for some of my favorite skin brands to release skins. I am wearing an older Lara Hurley skin today, and the fit is pretty good, except for the lips. I’ve noticed that most of the older LeLutka appliers that I have fits okay around the face but the eyes and lips are slightly off. I wore a lipstick applier over this skin and changed my lip shape, but I still want a skin made specifically for the Simone Bento head. It’s difficult to get a unique face when we’re all wearing the same two skins.

I almost never use Omega appliers, cos one size does not fit all. I prefer makeups and skins made for a specific head cos the fit is so much better. And Omega script is slow, so to me it should be a last resort. It is frustrating when a skin I like is not available for my head, but I would rather wait for one that does instead of buying an Omega skin and hope that it works alright. Have you tried your Omega skins on this head? It does not work.

    Truth Hair – Irena (+Hat)

    SkiFree

    SkiFree

That monster behind me in the photo was the definition of horror in gaming for a while. Before Five Nights At Freddy’s, before P.T., there was a game called SkiFree. The object of the game was to get a high score while skiing down a mountain. But once you got to the end of the map, a yeti ran out of nowhere, caught you, and ate you.

It became a mission of mine to outrun the yeti. It ended up feeling something like this scene every time:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxqHVoZ0fzc]

RC Cluster just released a cool set of wearable skis. When I picked them up, I immediately thought of SkiFree again! I had to do this fun photo as a tribute to all of my times trying to outmaneuver the yeti and failing miserably.

What was your favorite video game as a kid? What’s the scariest game you’ve ever played? Lemme know!

    What I’m Wearing:

Juicy – Meghan // LeLutka Simone Bento Shape

Juicy - Meghan // LeLutka Simone Bento Shape

Shaping making has always been a past time of mine, but many people find it frustrating or time consuming. I made a shape for the LeLutka Simone Bento Head, it’s for sale at my store in-world and on Marketplace. I’ve also made a video for you to see it in action!

All Juicy Shapes are custom made to bring out the best features in a specific bento mesh head. Every purchase includes a styling card with detailed information about where to purchase the mesh head, skin, eyes, and hair featured in the ad.

    Included with your purchase:

Juicy – Meghan Shape // LeLutka Simone Bento
Juicy – Meghan Brows // LeLutka Simone Bento
    Juicy Shape Style Card

Style Notes: Wear the shape and brows layer with the LeLutka Simone Bento Head. For the best look, wear a mesh body, hands, and feet with your mesh head.

All Juicy Shapes are mod/copy; please make a copy of your shape before making adjustments.

IMPORTANT: This purchase is for a shape only, mesh head not included. The shape is for the LeLutka Simone Bento Head, so it will not look like the ad on any other head.

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

“Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world. The disarray. I choose to see the beauty.”

As I played with the new LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head, the quote above from Westworld kept replaying in my mind. I just celebrated my 10th year rez day in SL, and I love how advanced and beautiful everything is now. I’m grateful for the creators of SL who are serious about their craft and release outstanding quality products. With every advancement in SL (windlight, mesh, fit mesh, bento), I keep thinking that this is the best it can ever be, and then something else comes out that makes it even better!

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

I’m sure you’ve seen pre-release info about the LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head and preview pics, so I won’t list all the features. Read the official blog post to see all the technical details. As someone who has worn a mesh head for years now, bento blows my mind because of its editing capabilities. I found a face that I loved from the previous lines of LeLutka heads, but of course I wished there were things I could tweak to make it feel more like me.

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

The LeLutka Bento HUD is easy to navigate, fast, and includes some bonus features like eye positioning. I’ve worn a separate eye HUD to control my mesh eyes (mostly centering and keeping it still for photos), but now that’s one less HUD to wear!

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

Look at these expressions! The HUD includes 24 expressions, 6 eyelid settings, parted mouth, blink, etc. If you play around with these, it’s possible to create random new expressions. I predict that there will Expression packs released in the future, so the possibilities are endless.

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

Eye positioning, the eyelid move with it! I used a separate eye position HUD before, but my eyelid did not move, since it was not bento.

    LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head

I’m still editing my head, so you will probably see it change over time with tweaks and new skins. Is anyone else as picky as I am? In addition to having a nice front view, I also want my profile to be proportionate and pretty.

Some of my friends have asked me if they should get a bento head, and my answer is obviously yes, but do try a couple of heads from different brands before deciding. I may like LeLutka mesh heads best, but someone else may prefer the HUD/sliders and overall face shape of something else. A bento head still has restrictions, so there’s a chance you will want to tweak something but the slider won’t allow that much editing. For example, I wanted less eye crease, but at 0 setting, there’s still a lot of crease left. On other heads, I could almost squish the eye crease further, but I think sometimes allowing too much editing can deform a face. For now, I am fully committing to this Simone head, but I’m still excited for new faces that I can tweak 😀

There is a lot to say about this mesh head cos it is the best thing released in a long time! I’m super excited, and I can’t wait for all the fabulous skins and makeups that brands will release to go with this head! Do you wear a bento head now? What are some features you would like to see in a future release?

    What I’m Wearing:

LeLutka Simone 2.0 Bento Head (coming soon)
    Exile – Eyes On Me @ Collabor88
Glam Affair – Emily Skin (coming soon)
Blueberry – Show Time Mask, Dress, Coat, Ree Heels @ The Arcade
