Hello from Winchester Harbor!
I have a thing for layers, and I’m not just referring to the countless tattoo makeup layers on my face. I’m talking about clothing layers—complex and intricate outfits, which, unfortunately, are somewhat rare in Second Life. Autumn is almost here, and I couldn’t be more excited to layer up and frolic around golden leaves and cozy landscapes.
Today, I’m wearing this adorable Peony dress by Cheezu, available at Kustom9. Deciding on a color was tough until I discovered that Cheezu offers the entire fatpack for just L$449! What a steal. This thoughtful pricing means they consistently get those slightly higher sales, rather than just L$300 for a single color. It’s a win-win—less decision-making for me and more value for them. More brands should adopt this smart pricing strategy.
To complete my layered look, I’ve paired the dress with an Off-shoulder cardigan from Tetra. Though this cardigan is an older release and hasn’t been updated to LaraX, it’s roomy enough to perfectly complement the LaraX dress I’m wearing. I’m thrilled I can still enjoy this piece.
Layers bring such joy and variety to fashion. Here’s to more cozy, layered adventures this autumn!
I was so excited to go to the Gaeta 1 / Zindra Town Hall, and I ended up leaving that meeting feeling disappointed.
First of all, I didn’t want to say this, but I will. The Town Hall could have been planned so much better. Dear Lindens, please make a question submission form, collect questions throughout the week, then choose the most informative ones to answer live. Letting everyone ask questions in local chat was complete chaos, and a lot of people couldn’t stay on topic. I was also surprised it was entirely handled through chat. You know that meme that says, this could have been an email? Yeah. That.
This meeting could have been genuinely informative if they had come in with a clear list of answers, explained exactly what residents need to know, then saved the last 15 minutes for open Q&A. Why that didn’t happen is anybody’s guess. Sometimes these meetings feel like Linden employees struggle with creating an agenda and sticking to it.
I was also disappointed to learn that residents who bought in on April 15 or after the expansion blog post went live seem to be treated like second class citizens. The relocation process should not prioritize only the biggest landowners or the people who have held land there the longest.
If I were managing this move, I would contact every current landowner, I think they said there were around 349, and ask two simple questions:
Do you want to move to New Zindra?
Can you move now?
If the answer is yes to both, put those residents at the top of the migration list and start moving them immediately. The people with more complex requests, unusual parcel needs, or plans to relocate elsewhere can be handled afterward.
Residents who are ready now should be first in line. Tier doesn’t stop while people sit in limbo, and it would be nice if Linden Lab remembered that.
I hope this whole thing wraps up within weeks. If the new continent is ready to go, I’m ready to move too.
And now onto what I’m wearing, because even when it isn’t a fashion post, it somehow becomes one.
Another round of Anthology just opened, and this shimmery dress is the Artemis Dress by Madame Noir. This dress is an example of when PBR is done so well it creates reflections and highlights correctly. With this outfit, I needed to find a place to serve as the backdrop for my photo. I opened the Destinations menu in-world looking for a music venue, and somehow ended up outside an 80s movie theater. I love The Breakfast Club, so naturally I had to take the picture in front of the poster.

Silent Sparrow had a hunt to find elephants stuffed with limited edition of the Selador outfit in various colors and sold for $350L each. Isn’t it lovely? The great thing about this limited ed. set (there’s only 50 of each color sold), is that it’s transferrable!!
I rarely ever rave about system skirts but this is just so perfect and slimming! I love the options that came with this outfit – there are two full prim skirts, a system skirt, pasties, the Selador top has the option of being worn ‘open’ to show pasties or with a shirt for a more modest look.

I’ve decided to give this outfit away to JuicyBomb readers! All you have to do is submit pictures of yourself to the JuicyBomb flickr group, the theme is ‘WINTER’ interpret that however you want. It’s super hot right now where I am, and the pattern on this set reminds me of a snowflake. I hope you guys play along, the outfit is darling! I hate to part with it, but I wanna pass it on to someone who may have missed the hunt. I’ll select my favorite picture and send you the outfit. It’s that simple! Contest ends May 1st.
What I’m Wearing:
Gala Phoenix – Petal [Dark] Sunny-Umbra 2
69 – Fishbone 02+Beret (Lightbrown) hair
Hucci – Lead Crystal Dion Necklace
Silent Sparrow – (candy) selador limited edition
SLink – Desire Sandal
A friend of mine asked me why so many avatars on the feed put things in their mouth — like ridiculous things, that have no business being there. When the trend first started, it was limited to things like lollipops, ice cream, cigarettes, duct tape, etc. Then people started attaching cassette tapes, buttons, household objects, and little animals.
I think putting objects in your mouth is OK — I don’t mind it in the right situations! But I’ve seen people blog a formal gown, while omnomnomnoming* on a little mouse.
Here’s a list of reasons why *I* think so many people are putting things in their mouth:
That’s all I can think of for now.
*Omnomnom = eating sounds! My plurk pals recently enlightened me that this is cute and not retarded, so I stand corrected. OM NOM NOM NOM LOL!
My outfit today is inspired by The Tudors! This show is so sexy and smart, I’m completely enamored by it. What I’m wearing is the Chimera gown by Evie’s Closet. It’s so shimmery and beautiful, just perfect for an English lady or the King’s mistress 😛
Today my Plurk friends told me about a new online photo editor called Ribbet! Last year, when Picnik integrated with Google (closed), a bunch of us (former Picnik addicts) went to Picmonkey. I liked Picmonkey a lot, I even signed up or a whole year of premium service. However, it lacked one really important feature that Picnik had, which is the ability to upload directly to Flickr, instead of having to save the image first to hard drive, then re-upload to Flickr.
I took Ribbet for a test drive today, and I’m already a fan. It has everything that Picnik had, and more! It is Picnik 2.0! All the premium features are FREE now (that may change soon), but I would happily splurge on the upgrades just cos I love online photo editors for simple blogging edits instead of always relying on Photoshop.
Are you using any online photo editors? If so, which one?
