Christmas in SL is just so exciting. Designers are giving us gifts — how amazing is that? All of my favorite brands have something new, something free, or something very cheap for sale, and that makes me one happy girl.
I’ve been wishing for a new Laqroki skin and got my wish when Laqrki released the new Vilda skin and also sent out a group gift!! The group gift is a free Vilda skin with holiday makeup in all tones. I’m sure you know about it, but if you don’t, it is free in the subscribo!
The new Vilda skin is just everything I’ve always wanted rolled into one skin. I like that this can be both a Blonde skin or a Brunette skin cos it comes with two brows option.

I found the perfect comfy Christmas Day outfit to lounge in and try on all the newness in SL. The new mon tissu Lollia Tank Top and Balcon Lounge Pants are so comfy and goes perfectly well with my new Maitreya Scrunched PrimSocks. You don’t need shoes when you’re lounging around 🙂

If you asked me about my top two favorite skin brands on Second Life, they’d definitely be Amara Beauty and Glam Affair. Shout out to these amazing creators for making faces that are both sweet and easy to wear. My favorite brand at any given moment really depends on their latest release. I was a dedicated Glam Affair fan for months earlier this year, but around May, I switched to Amara Beauty. The reason? My favorite tone, Beige, started looking too orange. I suspected that PBR was affecting my tone preferences, so I tried a lighter shade, Flower. Still, it didn’t resonate with me. Given how much skin tones rely on shading and highlights, I made the switch.
I was happily wearing Amara Beauty for a while, but no brand is perfect. I still layered dozens of Izzie’s products on my face to fix the skin. This is why I don’t really do skin reviews anymore—it’s hard for others to replicate the look after I’ve customized it so much.
Anyway, today I’m back in a Glam Affair skin, and it’s not without its challenges. When I tried on the Nicta skin, I saw so much potential. It felt like “me” for a moment, though there were issues. I didn’t like the heavy highlights on the lips or the odd side highlight on the forehead above the brows. What’s going on there? I called my go-to skin doctor, Izzie Button (Izzie’s), and asked her to create a custom fix for the lips so I could wear my favorite lipsticks again and to remove the bizarre forehead highlight. She did it! One thing I appreciate about Izzie is that she’s always willing to create custom fixes for skins. If you need Dr. Izzie, feel free to message her in-world—she says I can tell you that. 🙂
Face Shine 25% Opacity & Face Shine 100% Opacity
Now that we have PBR lighting, I find myself drawn to face highlights, but not the overly baked-on kind. I like options, and Glam Affair included a Face Shine layer at 100%, 50%, and 25% opacity. If you prefer your own face shine, just wear the skin as-is and add on Izzie’s Highlighter Set to your liking.
This Glam Affair Nicta skin isn’t perfect to me, mainly due to the face and lip shine and the freckles on the nose that can’t be removed or fixed with Izzie’s tattoos. The freckles mean I can’t use Izzie’s Nose Shading fix, as it removes freckles only on one side. So you might be wondering, “Gogo, if you have to make so many adjustments, why wear the skin at all?” Just look at it! With Izzie’s help, I managed to fix about 90% of the issues, and now it feels like me. I decided that my new tone from Glam Affair is now Ivory, because it looks the best in PBR lighting and matches my current body tone.
Do you wear a skin without any additional tattoo layer fixes? Let me know in the comments, because I haven’t been able to do that in a very long time. I almost never wear the original brows that come with any skins—I guess I’m just complicated like that.
Kicking off this weekend with my first Bubblegum Weekends challenge post, by showing you the whole outfit this time. LOL. I put together this look with “kawaii” in mind, so I pulled out a couple of new and old accessories. I am wearing one of three new hairstyles from Elikatira – this Garden hairstyle is ADORABLE. The color-changing headband and loosely braided pigtails is to die for.
This look would not be complete without the adorable Chibi Wing-Sparkle from Pink Fuel, Apple Rings, from Addict, and Gloria Wedge shoes from Nardcotix.
Do you guys know how hard it is to find a decent looking baseball field? I couldn’t find any at all using search!!!! I gave up searching for baseball, and found an ugly mainland football field, to use as my in-world location.
BOOM has just released the Sport Tee and matching Vintage Runners. I am wearing a custom made ‘GOGO’ one, but I’m sure you could create your own by making a transparent Jacket Layer with your name to wear over the sport tee.

I’m at Armenelos, a perfect Greek island with charming homes and stairs leading to scenic places to relax or take pictures.
I didn’t get an invite to preview the Summero f Love fair, but like any good fashionista, I snuck in 😛 It was lag free and awesome. The fair doesn’t officially open til tomorrow so check back later, I’ll post a few other things I bought.
I went in search of some new skins and found this Sophie skin from Lara Skins. It’s not perfect, but hey, it was cheap and the face is lovable. For $600L you get all 5 skin tones, hair base version, and cleavages! I’m pairing it with the Miranda hairstyle from Exile, a fair exclusive, so be sure to get yourself a pack while you’re there. Wavy/Curly hairstyles that doesn’t flicker is so hard to find in SL, but Exile does it so well because this is not flexi, it’s all sculpted.

The I <3 Originals Fair starts tomorrow, February 5th and runs through February 13th. I am blogging to you from inside a lovely new starstruck prefab home that will be available at the fair, for only $350L (special fair price, it will be $500L in-store).
The Hathern home is a two-story modern Victorian style that features a stair case, two fireplaces, and is just the right size for one person (or two!).
There’s plenty of windows to let the sunshine in!
I decorated this home with a couple of pieces from my home decor shops, but quickly ran out of prims on my island (damn you prim limits!). I was able to furnish it pretty well on a limited prim budget, but now I’ll have to delete something from my other house, before I can rez more 😛

Kavar sent me the best Alice costume today, it’s from Bowtique (by Jellyroll)! If Alice isn’t your thing, there’s also the Madhatter costume, and Queen of Hearts costume, only $150L each. I’m madly in love with these inexpensive costumes, I may buy all of them. My Alice costume includes the dress, shoes, bow, stockings, knife, and two different versions (bloody/clean).
When you’re wearing the stockings and shoes together, you may have to adjust the shoes a bit, like I had to, so that it fits perfectly around the socks. This is not a SLink feet or SL default feet item, the stocking is mesh and already shaped like a foot.
I’m enjoying this bloody version much more than I should, let’s just say I felt inspired 🙂 Someone asked me to cover Halloween costumes, unfortunately I don’t know of any great ones for guys, but you can never go wrong with a Minotaur avatar, or the Wolfkin. I love both!
