Do you notice something? Today my accessories, shoes, and dress matches perfectly well. This may be a Juicybomb first!! I’m usually pretty tragic when it comes to matching everything, so I’m quite happy to say that this was by chance since I just wore everything that’s new in my inventory. Sometimes I get lucky!
I am wearing the PACADI Jasha Amba Silk Dress in Light Blue and matching Pacadi Yfke Bag. I’m also wearing SiSSi’s Cutie Flower Pink Mint necklace and Hays Uriza’s Ellice Pumps.
I love the new Ellice heels from Hays Uriza, they’re scripted to change heel metals, show/hide jewels, change jewels color, show/hide leg warmers, and TONS more. These shoes are worth it.
*vol’s shop at KssMall have dirt cheap poses, all of which are under 10L for entire packs! The pricing don’t make sense, they’re so cheap my mind started to melt. But I grabbed a few sets and the photos above are a mixture of several sets there which I think are fabulous if you’re looking for cheap, cute poses.

When Bakes on Mesh went live six months ago, I thought it would change the way we wore skins and phase out appliers completely. This did not happen. In fact, I recently learned that with BoM (just a fancy name for system layers that we’ve had since the beginning of SL), it’s not possible to have high-resolution appliers. LeLutka responded by launching a new BoM-ready mesh head with brand new HD applier zones, thus continuing your dependency on appliers forever. Genus followed by delivering a BoM script to customers and encouraging the continued use of appliers. Did BoM make things easier for anyone? No.
I see lots of SL residents and friends saying that they won’t use BoM, or they don’t understand BoM. Even though the concept is simple, the way mesh head brands have merged appliers with BoM created chaos. I think it would be easier if brands broke their mesh heads out into 3 products: Mesh Head w/ Appliers Only (what we had), Mesh Head with Just BoM (one mesh, removing all the “onion layers”), and Mesh Head with a Combination of BoM & Appliers (the direction we’re headed in). Something for everyone. Does this create more work for designers? Absolutely.
I said I would only go BoM when my skin was available, and that day came with the latest Pink Fuel Gaia release. I had to give up my EEP Viewer to use the latest official SL viewer. The new Gaia and Maia skins from Pink Fuel are system layers, so if you don’t currently have a BoM-activated Genus mesh head, you can’t wear this skin. This skin is made for Genus, and will not fit any other brands. Of course, you can try, but the result would not be pretty.

I’ve played around with a combination of wearing only system layers makeups, only appliers makeups, and a combination of both. BoM is still new and kind of confusing, but once you get it and use it correctly, your customization options are endless. I’m having fun incorporating bits of my old makeup brand, cheLLe, into my current look.

I decided to switch up my skin tone again and now I’m wearing the Velour Snow from Glam Affair. While I loved the Ivory shade, it ended up being too pale for the Sina skin, so I’m diving into a variety of Glam Affair’s faces and skin tones to find the perfect match. When I tried on this skin, I knew it would be perfect with some tattoo fixes from Izzie’s. I’ll recommend adding additional highlights on this skin with Izzie’s Highlighter Set, and because I’m fussy, I also added the Lower Lip Border Fix, Eye Fix, Nose Shading Fix, Nostril Lightener, Blush/Contour Remover too.
Shopping is one of my favorite pastimes, but a friend advised me to hold off until the Black Friday sales. It’s sound advice, especially since I often find myself with nothing left to buy from my favorite brands by then. It’s the tricky dilemma of being a loyal customer—you end up owning everything already! Plus, many Second Life brands don’t offer discounts on their new items during Black Friday. So, this year, I’m planning to curtail my shopping for a bit and see if there are any enticing deals when the sale arrives.
Even though I’m trying to limit my purchases, I can’t help but enjoy playing dress-up with new items. I went to Belle Epoque to get the free L$500 store credit, which allowed me to get a beautiful dress, and I even spent a little extra to get a second one! So I suppose I wouldn’t say I’m completely not shopping, but I’m definitely doing better at slowing down. Belle Epoque is such a generous brand, frequently hosting hunts and giveaways. I’m a big fan of their styles—they’re incredibly cute and so affordable.

For my outfit today, I am pairing the newly released Malika Bralet & Willow Mixed Jacket from The Secret Store with an older release, the Elaine Scallop Shorts. A few weeks ago, I was watching Maylee Oh on Twitch live-stream creating this jacket, and now I’m wearing it! Maylee is a multi-talented creator, not only does she create beautiful outfits in Second Life, but she’s also a prolific artist in real life.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!! I have tons of Barnesworth’s prefabs for my shops so I decided to go with a different builder this time. I am keeping my eye out on his latest unfinished villa though, it looks nice! The home I chose for my beachy parcel is the Fallingbridge Villa by Tya Fallingbridge of Pixel Mode. I bought this home is because the textures are neutral, it goes well on my beach and the bedroom set looks exactly like my parents bedroom set!! It’s kind of cool and creepy at the same time 😛

This home was pretty easy to rez, but I had some issues with the doors constantly closing on me, so I replaced all the doors with a script that would open and close the door on touch only. The script that came with the house automatically closed doors but I’m too lazy to open the doors so I changed all the scripts.
