I stumbled upon the Wretched Hollow sim about a week ago (on KoinUp), when I was searching for a nice in-world location to photograph in. There's a gorgeous shop selling doll clothing & accessories called Wretched Dollies, which I haven't heard of before. Linden Endowment For The Arts
It’s October the 1st, and that means Havenhollow is open! This year, the event is being sponsored by the Linden Endowment for the Arts, a program that allows residents to apply for land grants and put on exhibits for other users to enjoy. If you want to apply for a sim, visit this website to learn more.
So far, some friends and I have run around Havenhollow and explored most of the places… but there’s a problem. We can’t find the ending! We’ve searched all over for hints and clues, but after looking through the haunted areas and trick-or-treated at all of the houses, we’re a bit stumped.
Have you visited Havenhollow yet? Do you know where the “ending” area is? Perhaps there isn’t one this year? Or maybe it’s a timed event and will be set up later? Leave a comment about what you think!
Speaking of the LEA arts program, if you want a smaller space to exhibit your work, there’s currently land available at the Art Farm Co-op sim in their Pop-up Gallery section. Read the rules here before you set up, so your stuff won’t get returned! All galleries are cleared after two weeks, but it allows for artists to show off their work and possibly be motivated to create more. Currently there are lots of spots available, so go grab one!
There’s also a cafe/city section (photo above) where users can make machinima, put on plays, and take photos to their hearts content. You can rez props in the cafe or the city itself to create as you need to. The cafe is also a great place to meet other artists and collaborate.
I’m very happy to see Havenhollow making use of the LEA program, and I hope they continue to earn land grants from them in the future. There’s a lot of joy and care in their work and to me, that’s what we need more of in the grid.

She’s a Doll

I use a few different platforms to keep up with Second Life news, but lately I’ve been enjoying X more because it gives me a nice mix of real world updates too. The algorithm is surprisingly good at surfacing tech content I care about, like the latest in AI. Today I came across a fun tweet that inspired me to try something new. I turned my Second Life avatar into a figurine.
All you have to do is go to Google Gemini and enter this prompt:
Create a 1/7 scale commercialized figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, in a real environment. The figurine is placed on a computer desk. The figurine has a round transparent acrylic base, with no text on the base. The content on the computer screen is a 3D modeling process of this figurine. Next to the computer screen is a toy packaging box, designed in a style reminiscent of high-quality collectible figures, printed with original artwork. The packaging features two-dimensional flat illustrations.
For my Gemini photo, it took a few tries with Second Life snapshots before the app accepted one. Eventually I uploaded a full body shot and within seconds it generated the cutest figurine photo. I even tweaked the prompt to add some flowers to my desk. To get good results, you’ll want a clear picture of your avatar against a plain background. I was impressed that it captured my clothing and accessories so well and it really does look like Gogo in SL.

Come picnic with me! This gorgeous Provence Picnic Set from What Next comes with food and drink decor, texture change options, poses, etc! It’s only 12LI too – amazing! I still can’t wrap my brain around LI cos I’m old school, and I still think of items in terms of prims. Is 1 LI (Land Impact) equal to 1 prim count?
Exile released the most gorgeous hairstyles for The Epiphany. So many cute things at this event, a ‘lil hard to get in at the moment, but it should ease up by the weekend. I like that I can trade in extras for some exclusives! My outfit is the Heidi set from Azuchi, also at the event.

Elikatira has been releasing some super adorable hairstyles lately. I love pig tails, and I love hair accessories (hair flowers, hair ties, pins); I think they really add a lil something extra to the hair.
Look how adorable the Mon Tissu clothing items are! I love that they release mini-collections of things that all works together. The Highland Skirt is super sweet, and pairs beautifully with the Rockaby Blazer. I am wearing the Cozy Tee and Montsegur Pumps for all 3 looks. To complete the outfits, I’ve added the LaGyo Padlock Necklace (available at TDR).

The colors on the Sparkle & Shine lipsticks from Pink Fuel are simply the best. I’m wearing the Gradient option, so it fades nicely into my skin, and fits perfectly.
